What is Maintenance with Mashroom?
We’ve teamed up with Local Heroes backed by British Gas so we can provide you with a reliable, efficient, and quality maintenance service.
As a busy landlord, you might have just one property or a whole portfolio to look after and when you need something done, our maintenance service makes things simple.
How does it work?
We’ve made our maintenance service really simple and straightforward. All you need to do is tap a few buttons and we will find you a qualified tradesperson with just a few clicks via your Mashroom dashboard. Here’s how it works:
Book a Local Hero
To get started all your need to do is tell us what you need:
- Gas engineer
The information goes through to the clever people at Local Heroes, who will view it and will connect you with the most suitable tradespeople for you and your job.
Get your free quote
You will receive an online estimate, the Hero then calls and visits your property to provide you with a more accurate quote.
At this point the ball is your court. You can check and consider the quote and choose to accept it and go ahead with the work, or just cancel for free.
Pay online to unlock your 12-month guarantee
Pay through the Local Heroes website when your job is complete and unlock your 12-month guarantee. Work via this service comes with this guarantee for extra peace of mind for you.
Do I need it?
At some point your property is bound to need some kind of maintenance, and if you don’t have a go-to person in the area local to your property, we can help you find the right person for the job at any time.
Looking after a property requires care and upkeep. Things get used and worn through the general wear and tear of people living in a property and you might need someone to fix something while you have tenants in situ, or at the end of a tenancy.
What else do I need to maintain in my property?
Then there are other checks and inspections which need to be carried out by law. A Gas Safety Check needs to be carried annually out by a qualified engineer who is registered on the Gas Safe Register.
The relevant Gas Safety Certificate then needs to be produced following this and a copy should be made available to the tenants. Failure to do this can result in penalties and fines.
