3 letting agents in Low Fields

Run for the hills do not rent from them they will give you the run around. When you're in serious need uncaring and unfeeling terrible service with a hint of professionalism.

I lived in a student studio flat for over two years renting with Hunters. As soon as I moved in the flat was left in a very poor condition but I had to find a new place soon and the flats were cheap and close to uni so I took it anyway. As soon as I moved in the fridge was not working, the desk chair was in a very poor condition, the bathroom wall was mouldy and the ceiling in the kitchen was leaking every time it rained more heavily. Most of the complaints I had at the beginning took months to get sorted with me having to constantly chase them up, calling them almost everyday and sending long emails to finally make them sort something. Thankfully, after those first few months all the rest of repairs I had were minor but still it was always hard to get them to sort anything. At the end of my tenancy they wanted to keep most of my deposit for wall repainting and shower regrouting which were both caused of the mould and poor state of the flat. Thankfully, I had enough evidence since the beginning to prove I should not be charged for it and DPS gave me the money back after more than 2 months of waiting to get my deposit returned. I would highly suggest to any student or tenant to spend the time at the check in to take pictures/videos of EVERYTHING and make detailed notes on the check in report as its the most valued piece of evidence once you move out. Also take pictures of the signed check in reports in case it gets "lost". The only good thing about the agency was the flat price which was reasonable for a student and close to uni location. Other than that I would suggest to avoid it at all costs or be prepared to chase them for weeks to get things sorted and to wait months to get your deposit back and dispute it through DPS.

Well to start with they are not in Huddersfield, they are in Elland although their web site shows them at Huddersfield. You would have thought they would have updated their website by now as they moved in October 2019. We personally found them a difficult company to deal with and refused in the end to work with their outlandish demands. We found other companies far better to deal with. Sorry guys but you need to up your game to compete with other companies offering a much better and person focused service. However the ladies in the office are lovely.
