Preston Baker have been amazing in dealing with the sale of my house in Wheldrake. It is a slick well-oiled machine, but the agents know their stuff, they really care and pull their finger out to a) get the best possible sale price and b) help make the next stage of the process through to completion as painless as possible. Angela looked after my sale and was brilliant. I simply don’t know how she manages to do it and stay upbeat and give level headed advice. She went above and beyond and I am hugely grateful. Now, I am biased slightly. I used to be the marketing manager at Preston Baker 4 years ago. This means I have seen all the numbers for property launch and know first hand how much the company cares about getting its clients a higher price. Well it works, we accepted our first offer which was £12k over our asking price - a month or so later the buyer pulled out which meant our in second launch we got a lower offer. But the principle worked and I can’t recommend Preston Baker enough. Again a massive thank you to Angela. Solicitors / conveyancers take ages and aren’t the best communicators so I appreciate her persistence in maintains communications up and down the chain on my behalf. Thanks all.

Cannot recommend Preston baker and Angela Williams enough very professional and hard working. I was a first time buyer so it was all new to me but Angela was always helping me, answering my 1000 questions and the rest! Would always contact me if there was progress in the deal, made it all so easy so I didn’t have to worry about a thing! Will definitely be using them in the future!

We have used Preston Baker serval times to buy and sell in the last 5 years. Angela and the sales team in York are always on hand to help. The launch day makes the process very straight forward and smooth from start to finish. The sales after care service is very helpful as we have little time to chase the solicitor but Angela did all that for us. Very good service.

The cottage is a small bus ride from the centre of York with the bus stop being a two minute walk away. The shower is fantastic! There are all the conveniences one would expect and so much more. The personal touches and choice of colours throughout the property really add to the charm. It really was the perfect cottage for our break away! We will be back!

I've been through the sales process a few times with different agents, and Myrings are absolutely the best I've ever used. The sales side were absolutely fantastic (Syd and Clare especially). Very knowledgeable, and pro-active on the marketing front. Once a sale was agreed, this is where Myrings stepped up to another level. Gemma was totally on the ball with everything, and was maintaining communication throughout the chain. Without her, I'm not sure the sale would have completed.

I had previously listed my property with another agent and in 6 months had only 3 viewings. Lentin Smith have been so amazing I don't think I can really do them justice with anything I write here. Laura delivers on her promises and more. A woman of few words but her actions speak volumes about her integrity especially where the aftersales service is concerned. Dee has been so patient with me always willing to take one more call without leaving me feeling anything but respect for her. Lucy deals with problems with a dedication that is rare. We all deal with people in the services industry all the time and are always left feeling used and abused but not with lentin Smith. 2 other people in my building who like me have had such a good experience with lentin Smith that they are willing to help lentin Smith by making the time to help and welcome me are further proof of the consistent and genuinely friendly service provided by lentin Smith that leaves you feeling at ease that you've made the right choice luckily in trusting lentin Smith and I personally will always recommend that you also give them the opportunity to show how things could and should be done. My landlord also has notching but praise for lentin Smith and the lengths they've gone to to help her find what she feels is a good tenant and has expressed how impressed she is with the aftersales service and is more delighted with her choice of trusting lentin Smith. The peace of mind of knowing you're in such considerate professional dedicated honest and sincere hands is priceless. I have had many problems solved by the 3 people mentioned above but never once had to regret trusting them and would happily make lentin smith my first and only stop in anything concerning property sales, management or lettings just because both myself and my landlord both agree we gave never been let down by them. And honestly what I have said does them little justice in reality... They are that good. Give them a chance and I guarantee you will never regret it.

I think anyone who has gone through a house move during the pandemic needs to recognise the stress and pressure that estate agents will have been under and I can’t thank the team at Hunters HG enough for how well they handled the entire process. Hunters have now handled both our sale in 2018 and purchase in 2021 and it has been the most professional and easy experience on both counts. One of the agents (Aimee) managed to negotiate our exchange and completion with less than half a days notice with a bank holiday thrown in and looming stamp duty cut off. I am adamant that things would not have happened had it not been for her perseverance and above and beyond attitude which I am incredibly grateful for!

I can't recommend the team at Hunters enough. I had a really difficult sale and without the support Aimee and Shona I wouldn't have coped. They kept the chain happy and chased the solicitors. They updated me regularly and were there for support when things when wrong. I would highly recommend the whole of the Hunters team, they put together great presentation pack for my house and it sold for the asking price within 3 days. Unfair viewing policy. Having seen an alert via On the Market on Friday evening I immediately sent a viewing request. Followed this up with an email before 9am Saturday morning. Tried to call 4 times, no answer twice, disconnected by them once. On finally talking to someone I was told I could not view the property as priority had been given to those who got through on the phone that morning! So despite a prior request I could not book a viewing. Still not received any response to my email or On the Market enquiry! Dreadful service.

Hunters managed my rental property for over 3yrs - I couldn't be happier with service they provided. Where should I begin? Not even deserving of 1 star. Extremely unprofessional, they do not get repairs done, unless reminded they are in breach of their contract. These agents are an absolute sham. Regardless of how many times something is reported, these people do not care. Their excuse of covid is so outdated now. We have had so many issues since moving in. There was so much damp in the house before we moved in and it apparently took 3 months to fix, before we could actually move in. After moving in, so many other issues, such as leaking radiators, broken cooker, rock solid "new" carpets without any underlay, apparently all the doors were replaced and new although they are the same ones from when we viewed the house, a shower head which constantly leaks, while bathtub is leaking more water through the ceiling BACK ONTO THE PREVIOUSLY DAMP wall, which is still mid drying??? The shower is leaking so bad that water is dripping through the ceiling as of currently and apparently it's a priority issue? Funnily enough when the plumber turns up he never has the "parts" to do the full job, or gives reasons for the shower leakage as "it's a new shower, that's just how it is, I can't tighten it more" so what is the fix then sir? Also "new" radiators fitted, not sure which untrained person attached the ones in the house we are renting, the radiators are either bent, with bent pipes, or completely stuck to the wall, so forget drying anything on there, or even hanging a towel. Oh and by the way, the agency was ONLY in search of long term tenants. There is something called human decency, what is the monthly rent for? We haven't been given the liberty to live in peace since day 1. But I'm still seeing the responses from insight lettings of their "satisfied" clients and importance of "customer service"....is that for selected tenants or, because most of the reviews I've just read state the lack of care or attention given to tenants to enable them to live comfortably.

Awful and traumatic experience. Cancelled the tenancy agreement on the day I was supposed to pick up the keys, leaving me with no where to live and a pre-paid removals van now useless. After politely asking for clarification on building work and scaffolding outside the property the landlord decided not to continue with the tenancy which suggests to me that he was hiding something. I had previously asked for information on this which was ignored or not fully explained. I was refunded the holding deposit, and majority of the deposit and first month's rent and received no apology. I dealt with Charlotte mostly but also spoke to Claire on the phone who was a little abrupt, as per other reviews. It was Belvoir York with whom I dealt with and the property was close to The Grand hotel. I was property searching between September - October 2020. I would be incredibly careful before entering into an agreement with this agency, as despite being 'family owned' which did appeal to me in the first instance, the way I was treated was more akin to a company that places profit over people. This is the first bad review I have ever left for a company ever, but because my experience was so awful I felt the need to inform other potential customers.

I have been looking for a home to rent in recent weeks as I am relocating from the Midlands to up north. I have dealt with various letting companies who have been absolutely dreadful. I have rented from these guys several different properties over the years and always found them to be very helpful, understanding, responsive and professional. I have cats, so its always an issue for landlords. Everywhere I have tried to rent previous there is always a premium to pay for animals, which is understandable. I expect it. But as I usually leave a property pristine, R&W Lettings have taken notice and helped me to negotiate the the premium down on my latest rental. There are a lot of letting agents in Harrogate, but these guys do actually care about their tenants.

We had our apartment on the market for almost 2-years without any luck, using a larger company thinking that they would have the resources to attract attention and make something happen. Professional Company, Stress Free Sale! We went to Verity Frearson after a very unsatisfactory selling experience with another local estate agent and the difference couldn't have been greater. Everyone who dealt with us was professional, efficient and friendly; their valuation of the property was the most accurate of several we received; their communication with us throughout the process was excellent and our house sale was completed with the minimum of fuss. We would certainly recommend VF to anyone thinking of selling their property.

Where to start? I rented with Martin and Co Harrogate for a couple of years. This ended with my partner attending a mental health course due to sleep deprivation and stress. That may sound extreme, but we were plagued with noisy, drug using neighbours that M&C refused to do anything about. The neighbours smoked drugs constantly and made excessive noise throughout the night. The Andersons wrote countless emails to the crackhead neighbours but what good did that do? They claimed they had no control to evict the tenants despite acting as the landlord. When I spoke to the actual landlord, they had no idea that M&C were so incompetent as they actually had the power over the tenancy. There is an active police investigation into the neighbours incessant illegal activity, yet still the neighbours reside in the same flat. At one point the whole building wrote a letter with signatures to M&C and the landlord (who never got the letter), complaining about these neighbours. Guess who still lives there now? There was a young child in an adjacent flat exposed to the drug use and STILL the Andersons turned a blind eye - they'll say it was out of their hands... we found drug paraphernalia in the communal stairway which was ignored and not considered evidence. The Andersons were rude, manipulative, and untrustworthy. The office had a horrible vibe and previous employees have expressed their hatred about working for Martin and Co Harrogate. Luckily me and my partner have escaped from our flat from hell. Although once we left they hiked the price of the flat up even with the knowledge of the terrible neighbours upstairs! I bet they told prospective tenants they didn't know why we left...! Don't rent with Martin and Co Harrogate, unless you want to be treated as less than human or are into drugs.

Cannot recommend this company high enough. From the very start of letting my family house , Mark and his team guided me and were truly professional. I had heard from friends that had not had good experiences with other agencies but this was certainly not the case for me. Whenever something happened, I was contacted immediately and the problem was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Inspections are carried out every three months, and a full report sent to me. Something really unusual, was that any work that needed doing, was done to a high standard and not at huge expense! Then, when the time came for me to sell my house, Martin & Co were even able to help with that and achieve a successful sale. Five stars all round
