I've been looking at a move to Swindon for a little while, having researched the areas and amenities carefully. I began to contact local agents to give my details and likes/dislikes - from the first day of contact Richard James were so helpful and friendly with a selection of properties that were totally up my street. (forgive the pun) I decided at that point, that if i could, I would like to work with this agent far above the rest. As things progressed they always kept me up to date on availability and arranging viewings, readily available for a call with any questions I had. Finally I found the perfect home and Jessica West was a great liaison point - I can picture her smiling as we talked on the phone. I felt welcome and valued, now the contracts are all signed and the move in date is pencilled in I feel confident I can speak to them as and when I may need!

Seldom do I find a company worth writing a review on but I am delighted to recommend this agent for its professionalism and responsiveness. In particular, Abigail has been terrific from day one when I had been badly let down by one of her competitors who had failed miserably to undertake a letting service for me. Abbie arranged to have the property painted and decorated, some minor repairs undertaken and fully carpeted with the minimum of fuss, all in a timely way. She found a tenant and completed an inventory with pictures in a wholly professional manner. Very well done indeed, I could not recommend these people more strongly.

Hayley Mcgarry from Belviour has been an absolute star. When i viewed a property for rent with her, full PPE was worn and she showed myself and my friend round twice to ensure that it was what i wanted. When i told her about my current circumstances, she not only got my references done faster than it normally would, i moved into my new place 5 days after viewing! She also checked in almost everyday to ensure that everything was OK. I had full updates every time something happened and she was happy to find answers for my questions. She's an absolute star and hands down does her job to the best of her ability. Cannot thank her enough!

Carla refused to provide key information on new tenants when I bought a BTL property they had previously been managing. Over a week after email request sent no response. Claims information has been ‘archived’ and is unavailable. Not exactly a shining example.

Anita is absolutely fantastic! My mother, partner and I are extremely thankful for all of her hard work, she went above and beyond to get us a lovely flat in the area. Connells arranged to view multiple properties on my behalf based on a description of what I was looking for, and did a great job matching ones I was interested in. On the day of viewings Jake went above and beyond. Despite an unforeseen road closure in Swindon, his knowledge of the area and enthusiasm still meant we managed to get to the property on-foot and view it. We also managed to finish viewings on-time so that I could return to work without feeling rushed. Throughout all of this he remained professional, extremely friendly and had a positive sense of humour. Overall, I had an extremely good time as a potential buyer and would strongly recommend them.

Dealt with Alicia McCauley, and Sarah both who stepped up from the very beginning of my partner and I having no idea where to even start with a mortgage. From day 1 of deciding that we wanted to sell our house and move up on the housing market Connells were phenomenal. All in all it took 11 weeks from having the house valued to move day – and this wouldn’t have been achievable if it wasn’t for the hard work of the whole team at Connells, North Swindon. After having an online estate agent value my property I asked Taylors and they said it was worth over £40,000 more. They were as good as their word and sold my house very quickly. The whole experience was very good. It gave me confidence as Holly was constantly keeping me updated and even chasing the conveyancing solicitor for me. However, I have stopped here to say, that viewing done by Mark Woolhouse, was one of, if not the best viewing out all the ones we have had so far. We used Allen and Harris to let our property. The office is very pleasant, if you can get hold of them. They suggest you take a no deposit scheme, which we did. Due to corona our tenants left before their official term had ended. They had completely trashed the place; broken furniture, half painted walls, skirting painted using emulsion paint, pulled the tiles off the wall in the kitchen. Sequence offered us (after waiting 14 days for a check out. £150 for damages. they told us to go and get a quote for the repairs when we queried this, it took us 3 weeks to get the quote as they wanted it itemised. When we got the quote back they said they'd closed the case as the 28 day deadline was passed for claiming!! They never even informed us there was a deadline!!! The cost to have the house repaired was £5000!!! Thanks Sequence & Allen and Harris... nice doing business with you, we will be taking the matter further.

I called Allen and Harris back in July searching for a 2 bed house in the chippenham area, spoke to the Sales manager Michelle. I remember her saying I will find you something nice. Two weeks later she found us the perfect property, Michelle was helpful, polite and professional throughout the whole experience. Fantastic response to our emergency on Good Friday night! My elderly mum is the tenant who lives alone in an Alan Hawkins rented property and experienced a sudden and serious water leak. We called the out of hours emergency number and to our great relief Kevin Hawkins answered this personally. He organised the plumber who arrived at the property within 20 minutes. Meanwhile he spoke with Mum to reassure her and was just brilliant. It was all sorted in less than an hour. This was the second time in a week Alan Hawkins have come to Mum's rescue and I can't praise them enough. So caring and professional.

Friendly staff in office they found buyers for our house in record time but in-house solicitors used by buyers not good we've been messed around for a month now with completion. After our experience we wouldn't use their solicitors if buying as they don't answer calls and don't seem to know what they are doing and make a lot of mistakes and blame junior conveyor for it , estate agents in shop are good for finding a buyer , but still don't always keep all informed as to what is happening.

Poor Courtney and her team had to deal with an imbecilic dinosaur who can hardly cope with the internet. They were patient with a most reassuring manner, allied to professional savvy. My dog and I are mightily relieved to have found our rental. Thank you Allen & Harris, Calne

I want to thank Sam and her sales team at the Calne branch, in particular Hanna Oberemok. She has honestly been amazing from the day she came to our property to give us our valuation. I couldn’t recommend Kyle Marsh enough! He has been amazing at advising me and helping me find the best mortgage as a first time buyer. Kyle was able to talk me through each step as I didn’t have a clue being a first time buyer, and made everything so much clearer for me! Too many additional charges when tenancy ends. I stayed at 124 Dunsford close and they charged me for lot of things inside the home and outside too.. worst one i remember was handed over the key and after 3 days one of the member told me there is a small plant of 10cm with flowers close to driveway i have not cleared it and charged me additional 50£ for that. I told the guy i will come and clear it off but he told me still i am liable to pay 50£ for his next appointment to check the same which is cleared or not. I have professionally cleaned and painted and give still they deducted almost 1/2 of my deposit. Kindly not choose them.

Strakers have been managing my rental properties since I moved them over from another property management company about four years ago. I live outside the UK so rely very heavily on the staff of the management company to be my eyes and ears and provide good communication. Recently one of my properties needed a total rehab due to its age, and that included a completely new kitchen in addition to flooring and paint. Nicky Wall oversaw every detail including visiting the property at the weekend. The attention she paid to the contractors and the workmanship was outstanding, it was as if it were her own property that she was managing, and you can't ask for more than that.

As a landlord I have used Austin & Wyatt, Amesbury Branch for a number of years. Scott and Izzie have managed the letting side of my property very well and Holly has been excellent at taking care of all of the maintenance requirements. I have experienced one tenant who has paid late but Izzie is always on top of this and ensures that the tenant pays in full. Just to say thank you to the top team at Austin & Wyatt. Poor customer service especially from the accounts department - excuses from the local office was repeatedly that the accounts was out of there hands. I never failed to pay my rent on time but received 6 arrears notices over a 5 year period, all mistakes admitted by them - one pinging on my email waking me just after 5am on Easter Sunday morning telling me I’d not paid my rent in full. Again a mistake subsequently admitted by them. I just found their responses very flaky and the whole experience very annoying, especially as I always paid on time. Luckily I had a very nice and understanding landlady - who was as equally annoyed with them as I was - I’d never recommend fox and sons or any company that’s part of the sequence group. As one member of staff told me ‘sadly we are now just a small fish in a huge ocean since we have been taken over’. My advice is to choose a different agent where customer service is better. I’d never recommend anyone use Fox and Sons.

Unfortunately we were unable to continue with the sale of our property, however, everyone at Fox & Sons Salisbury were extremely helpful throughout the selling process. At times things can get frustrating but Amy in particular would do everything she could to assist with anything we threw at her. I called about a property for sale and I was told I would be called back the following Tuesday as there were other viewings. No one called back. I waited in for the call. Disappointing.

Purchased a house via strakers back when covid first hit. Both the seller and ourselves were obviously stressed and strakers staff made the whole process 10 times worse by telling us one thing and the seller something else. Unprofessional office staff. Only slightly redeemed by the fact that the lady who did the viewing was fantastic.

I found purchasing my home through Strakers a very positive experience. Marianne was always available whenever I had any queries. Everyone in the office was professional and helpful. I would happily work with Strakers again.
