We have had the most stress free and pleasant experience of selling 3 houses with Shillans. Rob has kept us informed every step of the way! I understand that during the current circumstances estate agents may be busy however, I called and was hung up on, I left a voicemail a week ago and never heard back and sent an email two weeks ago to get an automated ‘we’ll be with you shortly’ and never were. So sadly disappointed as I’ve been told they’re supposedly good around this area. It would’ve been nice to have at least a response via some form of communication from them :(

With many 'cheaper options' online for lettings, it was a tough decision on where to go but I am over the moon I chose the guys at Matthew Anthony. From the first meeting they were transparent, honest and as helpful as could be, guiding me on everything I needed. The photos were of a professional level, and they got me a tenant within 3 hours of the flat going live. They then guided me on all I needed to have put in place, and are at the end of the phone whenever I need them. Would massively recommend for any landlords out there looking for a stress free experience.

Our property was up for sale with Farndells for around 12 weeks and throughout that time we didn’t have much interest on our property. Communication isn’t great, Sometimes they would go as long as a week after a viewing without contacting us with feedback, so we were always chasing them up. They took quite a while putting boards up and were generally a bit slack. We were told we were being unreasonable for not accepting offers way below the asking price, despite John stating we would have no trouble getting the asking price at our valuation. So we swapped estate agents, within 2 weeks with our new agent we have accepted an offer for the asking price. Obviously this is just our experience with Farndells and everyone’s is different, we just personally wouldn’t recommend.

First of all I bear no relationship to the owners of this company. My first occasion the buyer of my property dropped out. The second was just an unfortunate occasion. What has frustrated me is that I was promised call backs that never happened and had to keep chasing for answers. It was frustrating to keep chasing when the Estate agents you are buying from actually do a better job than the ones are hoping to pay. Won't be using again

We recently sold and bought through Farndell Estate agents. John Farndell himself came out and valued our house, and again with the photographer to put the house on the market. John and his team have been extremely helpful, and friendly. Katie and Sue were fantastic at organising the viewings on our sale. John attended himself on our viewing of the property we purchased and even came and saw us on completion. I would highly recommend John Farndell and his team. Through this pandemic we have wanted to support small and local businesses wherever we can.

We were disappointed with the overall service as we felt that when a buyer eventually came along we did a lot of the chasing of the chain ourselves. Jackson Stops were not proactive in this regard nor were they on top of the developments within the chain that threatened the sale. We also had to instigate 2 major price drops ourselves when the market went quiet, to stimulate interest in our property. Overall we felt they did not add much value apart from managing viewings.

We were introduced to Tim Wickins and the Jackson Stops team when we purchased our new house through them. We were hugely impressed with that experience and so it was a no-brainer to use them to manage the related sale of our existing house in Arundel. We were not disappointed as Tim and the team performed brilliantly for us. It is safe to say it was the best Estate Agent experience we have had in 15 moves spread over 40 years. I made several attempts to make contact and arrange a viewing over a few days. When they eventually picked up my phone call the conversation I had was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Nothing to identify who was speaking. No help whatsoever. He clearly wasn't interested in doing his job. I do not recommend using Connections Letting Agents. There are plenty of other agents who are there to help.

Arranged a viewing, explained we were travelling from London. They confirmed the viewing and promised to submit offers the day after. On the day of the viewing they laconically called a couple of hours before, while we were en route, to cancel the viewing. They had put forward offers and taken it to sealed bids (beware this!) the day before. No apologies, no excuses. Lazy, unprofessional, unreliable. Beware. Addendum* 1. You did NOT inform us of the decision. 2. We were on a train from London to Bognor when you called: we did not put the phone down but were cut off. 3 You also have responsibility to buyers, not just vendors. 4. Yes, you managed to sell a property in a sellers market - congratulations. Let me add 'smug' to the list above. Caveat Emptor.

We first listed our property way back in November 19 and were selling right through the Covid-19 pandemic, naturally, we've all seen extreme changes in circumstance and industry but I can't speak more highly of Clarkes and everyone there who remained positive and commitment throughout our sales journey and indeed these strange times. Very poor customer service. All they care is to get money, afterwards tenant doesn't matter

Normally I review only very disappointing experiences and unfortunately, I found this, being one of those. So, couple of weeks ago I called this agency as I was interested in a flat in Bognor Regis and I wanted to know more and possibly see it.. Not even the time for any questions I’ve been passed to their mortgage advisor to have being asked a considerable amount of personal and financial information. I was so surprised by all this rushing that I begun to be worried about my personal data, so I sent a further email to this “advisor” to make clear I did not authorise any check on my credit history, in order to maintain my credit rate regardless whether or not a credit check was actually carried out - As a first time buyer and new to this I didn’t know at which stage these checks are carried out - and however, this is not the point. It should be noted that few days later I was in contact with another very popular firm for another flat I was interested in, they kindly gave me all the information I needed about the flat, and ONLY AFTER, they proposed me, to speak with their mortgage advisor in order to see if I was eligible to get a mortgage. Not even 24 hour later they get back to me taking the time to explain that as my payslips, unfortunately, have some furlough periods in between I wasn’t eligible for a mortgage this time, but that they would have been very happy to review my application in “better times” (no furlough on payslips) etc. Ohh.. and no need to say that the first estate agent (the mortgage advisor) did not even bother to replay my email regarding my concerns so, as I assume they don't read emails, I though to express here my disappointing experience. Of course, now I know what service to look at and trust when “better times” will come or who to recommend as I will be sure I will deal with people who CARE to give all the information I need and addressing any concerns.

Matthew Cole came out to provide a market valuation for our property, despite email and phone call chasers over four weeks later were still waiting for him to respond to our calls and provide the promised valuation. If Coles can't get the basics right it doesn't provide any confidence that the rest of their service would be any more professional. But on a positive note, it makes the decision of which agent to use that bit easier, sorry Coles you've declared yourselves out of contention, business must be good!

Our house went on the market with Coles in August 2020 and we immediately secured several viewings and achieved a full asking price offer within one week! The high quality photos and video no doubt assisted this process. We were also grateful for the support provided during the sales process; Coles effectively communicated with estate agents and solicitors within a chain that was quite fraught with difficulty at times. We were impressed with their professionalism throughout and would certainly recommend their services.

If I could have given them no stars I would have... both ladies Simone and Linda are incredibly rude and derogatory towards both myself and my partner, we’ve been renting through them for nearly three years and we have waited and waited for things to be done. At one point we were left for months and months with a gas leak with two children under three in the property. They have made living in this property an absolute nightmare, they do not care about their tenants at all not the properties they seem to keep the landlords sweet but obviously they would as thats their pay check...
