5 letting agents in Upper Holloway

Made it clear to agents that I was moving out of my old place because of irritating noises out of my control. They didn't think twice to take my money as I moved into my current flat. I've lived in a lot of places, but never anywhere with such thin floors - to the point where I question the legality. The noise is unbearable. Just the sound of the person upstairs walking - each step sounds like someone's dropping heavy furniture. It really is eroding my mental wellness. I've already handed my notice to leave (10 months left on the contract). The reply I got from one of their agents was "OK thanks, have a nice weekend". Avoid this agency.

Very bad experience with this agency. They withheld my £280 deposit after claiming they couldn’t accept my references and the two week period had elapsed.just horrible and malicious.Beware!

Well, I enquired for 40A Hanley Road Property that's with the Garden. The Agent who dealt with this request was Max. I asked him several times if it's Pets Allowed. He said Yes. Then I booked a Viewing. Even during the viewing I comfirmed with him if it's Pets allowed and he said Yes. I didn't ask put foreard much Requirements on my Offer- just the basic furniture which is already present in the Property and the Pet. They even asked me for a week's Holding Deposit just to send the Offer to the Landlord. It was fine with me and I sent the offer with the Holding Deposit. Until then, he kept calling me on my Number and attended my calls regularly. The next day, there was no response regarding the Landlord's Response. I had to chase him and when I called him, he pretended like he didn't know who I was. Eventually at 9pm next evening, he confirmed via email that the Landlord has decided not to accept the offer only because he doesn't want a Pet! Well, if you are a gentleman and a good Agent, he would have checked with the Landlord first before doing the Viewing! Why would he lie to me that's Pets are allowed in the property. I see it as a Discrimination against me and my Pet Dog. I wouldn't recommend this Agency! Stay away. Also because of him nit giving the response on right time, I missed on another house offer. I am not saying this because I haven't been offered the place. I have been refused offer because of Pet in other places, which I do understand. But as an Agent, I would enquire this with the Landlord before I do the booking and not waste the time and travel fare of the Clients!

Where to begin? I rented with Ariston Properties for 3 years and was the perfect tenant (if I do say so myself). Upon leaving, they charged us a £220 cleaning fee, even though the property was left in a better condition than it was in the check-in inventory. I believe the cleaning invoice was fraudulent, as the company was not listed online and not registered with Companies House. I lodged a dispute with the TDS and after 3 months, finally received most of the money back. My advice would be: do not rent your property with them or rent from them. Judging from these other recent reviews, I would say this is standard for them at the moment - trying to take advantage of tenants during the global pandemic.

We rented a house through Ariston Property in 2019 - we were told that we had to wait 2 weeks before we could move in so that they could make repairs to the house. However when we moved in no repairs or cleaning had been carried out. There was mould on the ceilings, holes in the floor and skirting board, the fridge was broken and the garden was so overgrown you could not see any of the patio. We managed to get them to fix it and during the year they were fairly helpful if we had any issues. However when we left, we ended up in a deposit dispute as they tried to charge us for issues that were either present at move in or due to fair wear and tear. I do not recommend renting from this company, they do not provide safe or quality housing.

They are absolutely brilliant. It was one of the best experience with property agency in my life. Elliot is an amazing agent who gave us a viewing and helped us to make a successful agreement. Property he showed us was amazing, he was kind, super nice and genuine. We could make things work based on the trust on him. We had to sort out an 8 month rental between Christmas and the New Year for a 16th January move and Elliot helped us find the perfect property within 24 hours. He was responsive to calls and emails over the weekend, he was there for the viewing and on hand to help with the contract process along with any question we had right up to the key handover. We would go back to James Edwards Properties without hesitation.

I think it's rare to find an estate agent who you truly trust to act in your best interest and continues to offer fantastic, responsive service even after you move in as a tenant. Elliot and Ana have done just that. Even with a few minor issues with the property after moving in, they've been responsive and professional to have these resolved as quick as possible. A fantastic managing agent from a tenants perspective and they're also great people. Highly recommended!

Have used Alex Marks for several years to let out a flat in North London. They know the local market very well, are approachable and are always contactable. We have just come to the end of our tenancy at one of Alex Marks' properties. We rented the flat for 3 years and Tony and Alex were always prompt and helpful when we had any issues throughout the 3 years. There were a few times we had to call Tony outside normal office hours and he responded to phone calls even when he was not at work, we really felt he went the extra mile! We were also delighted to receive our deposit back in full at the end of our 3-year tenancy. I was very reluctant to leave a lovely flat and a decent estate agents, they're not easy to come by!
