3 letting agents in Shadwell

Terrible experience. I advise everyone to avoid this property agency. They do not communicate with the customers. I am chasing them to answer a simple question. I called, they promised to call me back, but they did not. I sent 3 emails, no answer. In addition, although I paid the holding fee for a property it is still appearing on Rightmove as available.

We were interested in renting the property from them and the agents were quite unresponsive, never answered our emails, had to be very persistent on the phone and after days of chasing them we decided to pass on that particular apartment. If this is their attitude when they need to rent the property cannot even imagine how they treat their costumers when they take your money.

Avoid at all cost I had the displeasure of renting a property through Hastings International back in 2016, recently came across it again and decided I should inform others about horrible experience that is still haunting me. I dealt with many over the years (moved 6 times around London by now) and Hastings International is by far the worst I've ever interacted with. Just to name a few things from the top of my head: 1) when I moved in there was a huge pile of mail on the floor, including letters from police and council about a broken intruder alarm that was haunting neighbors, agency made zero effort to rectify this, ignored my calls and emails; 2) While our contract stated we had to give notice 1 month before end of tenancy if we wanted to vacate or extend, Hastings International kept harassing me with phone calls 2 months in advance, almost every day, asking for an answer; 3) Hastings demanded I pay them £60 to provide a reference for me to the new agency after we decided to move, there was zero mention about this fee in the contract or on their website (they had no information about fees displayed, which now is thankfully banned), they effectively held us to ransom at that point because we had to move and they were not willing to have it disputed; 4) After we've spent a whole day religiously cleaning the flat for closure of the tenancy, they said there was a little bit of dust on a skirting board behind the bed and charged us £120; the flat was DIRTY when we moved in. Thanks.

I have been living in one of their properties, which they manage, for the last 18 months. They are great till you move in then you have to chase them multiple times for everything. I would be cautious in moving into a property they manage, as they are not responsive and the customer service they provide is very poor. Expect many calls and emails to be unanswered and unreturned.

I needed a last minute rental property (within a weeks notice). I knew this would be unlikely to get. I emailed multiple letting agents and this one was the only one that got back to me straight away. Lisa, who I dealt with mainly, was extremely helpful and did everything she could to get me the flat for when I needed it. She answered all queries quickly and was also on hand if I needed anything. All the relevant checks were done efficiently and professionally and everything was explained clearly to me so I knew what was happening at all stages e.g. waiting for finance checks to go through. I could contact Lisa easily by phone or email and everything with moving in and moving out went smoothly. I would definitely recommend using this letting agent. They have a high professional standard and I felt comfortable when needing to contact them. There was a appliance that did not work properly. This was sorted out quickly and a replacement was sent out straight away. Sometimes when you rent a property, it is hard to contact the letting agent once you are in but this was not the case with Property Liaisons. They were helpful and present throughout the process if I needed them.

Estate agents get a bad press, but Justin restored my faith in them. Professional and conscientious, he made the best impression of the several agents who gave us a valuation. He gave us good advice and didn't give us a hard time when we didn't take it. When we eventually took that advice, our property sold quickly, and he got us a very good price despite difficult market conditions. He kept us updated, fought our corner, and most of all, was kind and courteous, qualities which are vastly underrated in estate agents. I'd definitely recommend him if you want sensible advice and a professional, courteous service.
