I would not recommend Salter Rex, especially Andy. He is not transparent when other offers come in on a property you may have offered on, and does not give honest feedback as to why your offer was not accepted, especially when you have expressed interest in upgrading your offer. I found the whole experience disappointing, somewhat shady, and would advise anyone to re-think renting with them before signing any formal contract.

I have owned a flat in Islington managed by Salter Rex since 2001. As an organisation, I would say they have never been particularly responsive in dealing with building issues. However, in recent years, it has become so poor that, quite frankly, I wonder why I am paying for a service at all given that there appears to be little or no response to leaseholders' genuine concerns over aspects of building safety and maintenance.

I am a leaseholder of a property that Salter Rex manage. Over the last 15 years the service has been substandard, the response times are very poor, the level of engagement and the way information is provided has been substandard and the decisions made have cost us money. Even their dispute handling process has been a huge disappointment. I would not even recommend them to my worst enemy...

We had the worst experience renting a 1 bed flat on estelle road, NW3. The estate agent was unpleasant and degrading to us, plus lied multiple times about issues i.e dropping the landlord from the agency as she was too terrible to work with but then they have continued to work with her. The landlord for this property is not a good landlord at all and is worse then the estate agent. We would advise not renting this property if possible as you will not have a good experience unfortunately, plus not working with this agency for rentals.

My partner and I found our dream house! Andy showed us two properties during our search. He was professional, prompt with communication and honest when finding our place. The whole process including referencing and paper work was easy and stress free. Also I'm not sure if this is the case across the board but we weren't charged any agency fees or references which is really good, especially during these times of uncertainty. The whole team were helpful, friendly I and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to rent in the area.

Nick Reed was one of the nicest agents I have dealt with, as well as extremely professional. Nick kept us up to date with all developments, calling us weekday, weekend or evening as we negotiated the purchase of a home. In the end, it didn't work out for us, but this had to do with the house seller alone. My heart is still broken, but the experience was softened by Nick's honest care. We recently purchased a flat through Parkheath. Karla was extremely helpful throughout our purchase right from our first viewing. We asked Amberden to value our property a couple of years ago and we were impressed by their thorough approach, their knowledge of the property market in Hampstead and their honesty. When we decided to sell 18 months or so later, we went back to them and they impressed again. Josh Wilson was a positive and supportive force throughout. He not only kept our spirits up at challenging times, but was also proactive when needed. We were also really impressed with their team approach when we had a problem with our buyer. Madeleine Bergman, the co-owner of the firm spoke to me as did another colleague of Josh, to talk through the situation and discuss different ideas/ solutions. I felt that the whole firm were with us to get our place sold. And, indeed, that’s what we achieved. I strongly recommend Amberden. They bring experience, support, passion and knowledge, all of which are very much needed when a house move is being undertaken!

Selling my house through Amberden's was so easy. Jonathan priced it correctly, was very selective about who he showed it to, and after about six appointments it was sold. Amberden's are specialists in this neighborhood - South Hill Park, Parliament Hill, Tanza road and Nassington road - a beautifully quiet location with tree-lined in an enclave within Hampstead Heath. They also look after other streets on the edge of the Heath, such as Constantine road and Savernake road. If you want to buy or sell in this area, they will know what is on the market, and they are so well connected locally that they will know about houses that are not yet on the market yet but will be soon. I have seen them make sales within a day of publicising the house. Jonathan set up and helped fund the beautiful Peace Garden on what had previously been railway wasteland next to Hampstead Heath station. Jonathan, Josh, Madleine and Gary know everyone in the area by site. If you are looking to buy, they won't show you unsuitable properties, but will try to show you exactly what you are looking for. They are a pleasure to do business with.

I would highly recommend this as a first port of call for anyone seeking to buy in the NW3 area. I visited Amberden Estates in December 2013 as had been recommended to speak to Josh Wilson. I was incredibly impressed by this outfit, which bears none of the traditionally negative hallmarks associated with an estate agent. Josh was friendly and highly professional. He was not at all pushy, and he (like everyone else at Amberden Estates) clearly had an outstanding knowledge of the area. Our needs were quite complex and we were given the time to discuss them in detail without feeling rushed. The team at Amberden were able to provide expert advice on the area, pricing, cost of potential renovation and potential hurdles with planning permission - even offered to connect us to respected local tradesmen. All of this despite the fact that we made it clear fairly early on in the discussion that we had already seen a property that we liked with another agent. To my surprise, this did not elicit any negative reaction, but instead a genuine interest: the team ultimately advised me that this seemed a good price for what I was seeking, and that I should be cautious of a list of pitfalls but that otherwise I should probably act swiftly. All in all, it was such an unusually positive experience.
