Busy place, very expensive

Jason Young Chu is our property manager in London and has been looking after our tenancy for several months now. Before Jason we had several unsuccessful attempts at resolving various issues with the flat, but since he took over we have been impressed with his care and attention. Whilst there are still a few things outstanding, Jason has always kept in regular communication with us, providing updates, and being proactive in following up with maintenance services on our behalf. Most importantly, he has made us feel valued as tenants, rather than irritating and annoying people to be ignored. My husband and I cannot fault Jason's customer service!

My husband and I feel extremely fortunate we were connected with Omar! He is a tremendously helpful and hard working agent. Not only did he find us an apartment that is better than we could have hoped, but he provided many recommendations to guide us in London. We just relocated from the US and his advise was super supportive. He made a point to help us understand the market from a price point perspective and what were reasonable expectations. I was looking for a flat to rent for the past 2 months until I met Omar and now I am renting the first flat he showed me. Omar is an amazing guy in every sense of the word. He is truthful, committed and very very helpful. I viewed more than 20 flats with different prime agencies in Central London but eventually ended up with the one that Omar showed me because he offered to help sincerely since day one and he really did. He follows up with you step by step and he is always there to give an answer when you have any question and he always replies to emails within minutes. JDW Chelsea, did a fantastic job selling my house. Gave me good advice on pricing, marketing and when it came to sale process , how to navigate the complex path to exchange. They also ensured that the exchange happened very quickly, which without their hand holding would not have been the case. What I also liked that even though Robert Green was may original main contact , I dealt with the whole team. The actual sale in the end was handled by William Close Smith. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Not only did he achieve the asking price, for me. He ensured that the exchange happened in a very smooth and extremely quick manor. I cannot thank him enough!!! Someone you really want on your side when selling your property. He was also very good at handling me, which is important as selling property is a stressful process!

John D Wood handled the sale of our flat in Chelsea which turned out to be both a marathon process and a complex sale. Throughout the whole process I interacted with many of their team, (most latterly Jamie Davidson). All the team were outstanding both in their professionalism and good humour. Their advice was excellent and key in terms of getting to a successful outcome. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you. We were so pleased to have used John D Wood to sell our house recently. Robert Green delivered everything he said he would (and more). They expertly generated much interest in the property, resulting in an extremely swift and successful sale. The whole team was a pleasure to work with and they have been extremely accommodating. I can highly recommend them - they aim high and importantly, they deliver!

My partner and I rented a flat in Notting Hill through this agency for just over a year and our experience has been very poor. First of all, I would like to clarify that we had absolutely no issues with the property. The premises were as expected, good location and a friendly porter. However, when it comes to Russell Simpson, I don’t recall a single positive interaction. Their customer service is incredibly unresponsive, slow and careless. For example, there was a time we had a power cut in the afternoon. I immediately tried to call the agency’s official phone number (from Google) but no response. Then I tried to reach to our property manager (Annabelle) who did not pick up the phone. She then emailed me several hours later saying that her mobile phone “was on silent” 😅😓. In the meantime, we had to resolve the issue by ourselves otherwise we would’ve been left without electricity for the whole night. The check-out experience has been as bad. Poor and delayed communication throughout the whole process and made-up charges. The company they use for check-in & check-out inspections has a clear conflict of interests (appointed by, paid by, and dependant on the estate agency) which prevents them from being “impartial and independent” as they should be. As a result, we had to pay for the end-of-tenancy cleaning twice. Also, while still discussing the charges with our property manager, I noticed that deductions had already been made from our deposit and a transfer to my account was made of an arbitrary amount established by the agent. Overall, it has been a negative experience and we will not be renting with Russell Simpson in the future.

This is my first Google review! I am writing as a tenant of a Chapeltons managed property. My wife and I have been in the property for 4 and a half years in total. We are now moving to get more space as we have a little one on the way. Chapeltons are a small agency and are all the better for it. We got to know the team fairly quickly in our tenancy and if there was ever an issue, they were very quick to find a solution. We have really enjoyed being managed by the team at Chapeltons (Carolina, George and Jamie) and will miss their pragmatic and friendly approach. Thank you! If you are a prospective tenant, I highly recommend Chapeltons.

Absolutely appalling service. Travelled to the area to view this flat. They cancelled half an hour before and proceeded to blame us when we said it was unacceptable. The lady’s attitude was disgusting. Never use them.
