I had a very frictionless experience renting with Chesterton's once you've chosen a place to move in, everything is automated and super smooth. Had to pop into this branch today and was met with a rude and sarcastic receptionist who oddly didn’t seem to know the properties the branch were managing or the colleagues she worked with. Having been rude for a few minutes a more helpful member of the back office staff stepped in to lend a hand. Last year I worked with in excess of 500 landlords selling property in the Camden Town area and this year I will advise each I encounter of the poor standard of service I received. Receptionist was on desk at 5pm.

Ask for Kennedy Tonks if you're looking to rent a property! I've rented 3 properties before, and Kennedy was the best agent I have ever interacted with. I recently moved to London, and wasn't fully sure what I was looking for (especially with uncertainty around COVID and WFH). Amy has given us a first class service during very extreme complications when a leading furniture store simply could not get the order right. She juggled furniture delivery (and non-delivery), wrong furniture items missing parts during the assembly process, re-delivery of the correct parts, second attempt at assembly service and removal of the faulty furniture. Amy was friendly, helpful and has such a lovely manner. She is prompt and accurate in her communication with us and in spite of all the difficulties she really helped to build a good relationship with our new tenants. I have had a positive experience with Michael Charles Lettings - having exclusively interacted with Nick. He is responsive and easy to communicate with, and has made the moving process as easy as it could have been. After experiencing different (difficult) London letting agents in the past, I really appreciated having one point of contact for the whole process from flat viewings through to references and contract, and now as a point of contact between us and the landlord. They use a professional external inventory company which is helpful and thorough, and we found the property clean and as we expected. After an electrical problem, he quickly arranged a repair company to come. No complaints! Would recommend.

Dealt with agents Jonathan Yusupoff and Dean Williams at Huddletons for our tenancy search. Jon tricked my friend into putting a holding deposit down on a higher offer than he'd asked for, which we'd then lose if we backed out of the process. Several emails we sent were also ignored, and in general the service was poor.

My lady agent is absolutely unprofessional and slow: I had to insist every time I needed to change deposit amount, update tenant details or fix the house. At the end of the tenancy, she lasted 19 days to return the deposit with me insisting every couple of days. I had the feeling that she took advantage of my limited knowledge of the law in England because, once I told her my rights, she acted. My landlords were the best, so kind and comprehensive, but the process through the agency was a nightmare. Please do not trust in this woman (I don't know if the rest of the agency works as she does, I hope no)
