My wife and I met Anthony from Parkinson Farr whilst looking for a new property to rent. Out of all the estate agents we met (and we met with half a dozen) we had our best experience with Anthony. Beware of Scam and Fraud! I was moving to Edgware. Liked a flat that they offered. For the viewing they sent a friend, who was visibly did not work in the property sector. I have never met a representative of them in person. I paid one week's deposit to take the property off the market. They did not do that. Then they said that I had failed the credit check. (I refused to pay for a faulty dongle in 2012.) They kept my money. One and a half months later £154 was stolen from my bank account. My bank confirmed that it was a fraud. I cannot accuse or state, only presume that they were it since I had not given out my bank details to anyone else other than the big suppliers.

The first day when they posted one flat we liked, we called to ask more details about it. They said that will email us, that obviously didn't happen. After a few days we called them again. They said that will call us back because at that time we could not make an appointment as it was too early. Of course they didn't called back. We contacted them again and made an appointment to view the flat. The day when we agreed to see the flat they called 20 minutes before the viewing and said that someone gave deposit without seeing the flat. We were really disappointed because we spend our time for nothing. Totally unprofessional and irresponsible.

Patience, honesty and trust are words rarely associated with Estate Agents. However, 1st choice were amazing from start to finish. I left them to do everything and their assurance throughout the process as well as personal touch, felt like i was leaving if to someone very close to me to take away the heavy burden of trying to get the best and most realistic deal done, without all the sales pitch nonsense that I find so off putting about estate agents. With the level of service and dedication provided, this makes the fee the best value for money every. 1st choice, I salute you. Estate Agents, please take note!

Fantastic! Highly recommend, A very different feel to other estate agents. Understanding, helpful and a really approachable team. Very reasonable fees for a fantastic service. A real breathe of fresh air in a world full of people trying to trip you up and rip you off. Couldn't recommend highly enough and will use again when I need to find another flat to rent, and when I come to buying our house. Office is lovely and they even have a little dog... Terrible experience: They just want to charge you fees! The flat we rented was not at the “normal” range for indoor humidity (generally falls between 30 and 50 percent) which caused us eyes and sinus problem. The agency provided 1 dehumidifier which was not enough to solve the problem. We decided to leave and the Agency gave us a very unfair treatment. They charged us for £400 clean fees even we took all the appropriate actions to give back the flat in the initial condition. We also have to mention here that when we initially rented the flat, it was given to us in a very dirty and unacceptable conditions and we had to ask several time to get it cleaned. During the check out, they also mentioned few points that were not related at all to the cleanliness (rust due to moisture for example). The showed very poor or non-professional attitude. We definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND to go with this agency.

DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY First sign I shouldn’t have rented with them was how long they took to actually organise our contract before moving in. Also when we moved in one of the rooms hadn’t been cleaned and they had listed the property at the wrong price so tried to get us to pay more than we had agreed to when taking on the property. Massive crack in our wall the whole time we lived there which made our winter bills sky rocket. When it came to me wanting to move out but my flatmates wanting to stay - it turns out after me seeking legal advice that our contract was worded in such a way where even after our fixed term had ended I still had to live there until my flatmates wanted to leave or I could be replaced, which during the coronavirus pandemic you can imagine is pretty difficult! As soon as the company knew I no longer wanted to live there I received practically no communication from them, one of them refused to speak to me on the phone and I was given incorrect information multiple times. This is all despite me still paying rent and complying with the contract through Out the process. My flatmates however who were happy to stay were informed throughout the whole process. Absolutely despicable, no customer service skills or compassion towards a delicate situation (apart from one employee who unfortunately only dealt with me a few times)(edit: and has now left the company) If I could give 0 stars I would **UPDATE** I moved out of the property over a month ago and they have refused to follow the correct procedure for the return of my deposit so I have now had to make a claim for my deposit. They have not returned it to me yet. They have basically ignored all my emails since I moved out and let my ex-flatmates decide that I should be deducted money from my deposit for cleaning costs that I wasn't even informed about when I asked! And saying I had to chase the new person moving in to give their deposit straight to me instead of them returning it! No advice on what I needed to do and they didn't bother to reply to any of my emails, let alone do a survey of my room/the property after I left. Pure laziness. Honestly one of the worst companies I have encountered in my life. Beyond disappointed with the service I received. Save yourself the trouble. ** ME REPLYING TO CLIFTONS REPLY Why on Earth would company let the tenants handle a large sum of money such as the deposit? It is both unlawful and lazy. How will they ensure the money is returned? They can't and they won’t because I genuinely don’t think they care at all, since I’m not making them any more money. I apologise for any upset caused by myself when speaking to your employees however I feel this is more symptomatic of your complete failings as a company rather than my response on the phone. The only reason I would be disgruntled on the phone is because your company has caused me personally MANY tears, anxiety and upset at the insecurity of my living situation and finances over the past 6 months. Which is directly caused by yourselves and my ex flatmates. In a global pandemic, having just lost my job and two friends who I was living with, dealing with an unprofessional deplorable company like yourselves, most people would be annoyed on the phone. Especially if the company had been completely ignoring your emails and repeatedly shying away from confronting your issue over the phone. 3 months after leaving I still have no deposit returned to me by the company I issued it to. The new tenant is living at the property having not paid a deposit and Clifton’s are saying that I still live at the property and am still on the contract. Making me still liable for everything. 3 months later. Seriously, if you are reading this do not touch this company with a barge pole. They have taken advantage of this difficult situation in order to exploit it.

The worst experience I've ever had with a letting agent. Terrible relationship management. Patronising, contemptuous, uncommunicative, rude. I put an offer on a property and the letting agent left me hanging for days and days, weeks and weeks would not respond to emails and fobbed me off on the phone. They completely held up my search for a flat while time was running out, and I was left in limbo. I still haven't received proper confirmation that my offer was accepted or rejected. They increased the asking price after we viewed the place and just generally gave the impression that all they're interested in is making a quick buck.

Thomas Jaggs was friendly, open and professional as he showed me around a Queen's Park property - we ended up going with a different flat, but he made the quite stressful process of flat searching in a pandemic easy and enjoyable.

I wish I could give them 0 zero stars. Con artists supreme. They let us move into an incredibly damp flat. By the time we moved out water was running down the walls. We were lucky to get out in the 3 month window. Please do not rent with them. You will regret it and it will cost you money. I could write a novel on everything wrong with their service but it's not worth my effort.

Shocking

No stars. Housing Enterprise Solutions Ltd formerly Chase de Vani (dissolved/in liquidation) LIED AT COURT getting a Debt Order STEALING £1,300+ direct from my bank account, without warning, for back rent they were not owed for a period they’d been removed as Landlord. Unsurprisingly a large Landlord removed HES from dealing with all their properties. They only got away with their FRAUDULENT CLAIM because they knew I was away (visiting sick family) and failings/delays at Willesden County Court who did not inform me of claim, sending mail to the old address. Unable to afford a Solicitor I was out of the legal time limit, but the Judge at RCJ said I would have won my case against them and got my money back otherwise. NEVER USE this Property Agent, they will steal from your bank account years later. How many unsuspecting tenants have they stolen thousands from like this. They caused me years of aggravation and stress (including putting me at risk, wrongly naming me as having complained about a volatile tenant who then came angrily banging and shouting at my door.) Substandard properties, mould, infestation, often no water and blocked plumbing, builders regularly waltzing in with keys unannounced. HES are unprofessional, incompetent, underhand, manipulative, condescending bullies who exploit the poorest and most vulnerable members of society. They are common thieves/criminals. London newspapers are running a story on this. STEER WELL CLEAR.

Landlords be aware. This company is not recommended at all. They will deny your access to the property saying that the tenant is ill. I, and another estate agent asked to visit my property for few times only, one of which was for a remortgaging purpose and the other one was through an estate agent who had a buyer for the flat. They keep denying the access and when you ask them a proof that the tenant is refusing they do not send any proofs. I am happy to show any Landlord/lady all the proofs of what I said if you need. Fantastic Letting Agency, with fantastic people.

Pauline and Gail at Lewis Lettings are professional, caring and efficient. This a long-established agency that work fairly towards landlords and tenants alike. Their fees are very competitive and there are no fees for tenants. I rather suspect that the previous review is either a rival agency or he lost his deposit for trashing his accommodation as his review does not ring true at all for the experience I have had with Lewis Lettings. All of their business is through word of mouth, which says it all really.

Across the years I worked with quite a few property letting agencies and unfortunately not all of them deliver what they claim to be. Fortunately SRB is the exact opposite! I have used SRB's service for the last seven years and haven't had non major issue with them. Very well organized, supportive and trustworthy not just for letting your house and apartments, but also getting consultation on how to improve your rental level and retain your property in good shape. Definitely recommend considering this letting agency, especially for overseas landlords.
